Tommy Tuberville, R-AL, had a heated exchange with Biden’s nominee for director of the National Institutes of Health over a taxpayer-funded “gender transition” study that was connected to the suicides of two children who participated. “That’s obviously a tragedy,” Tuberville said to Dr. Monica Bertagnolli. “But what concerns me even more is the fact that the NIH was funding this research, and beyond that I believe the NIH even called the study a success.
