The South Carolina Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld a revised version of the state’s “heartbeat” law, reversing a previous ruling from the high court earlier this year that deemed the law unconstitutional. In the 4-1 decision, the court said abortions are not protected under the state’s constitutional safeguards against invasions of privacy.
