The
State of California has two bills pending in its legislature that could further
erode religious liberty and parental rights in the state. The first is an
education bill that could be used to shame religious colleges for their beliefs
and push students away; and the second is a so-called Bill of Rights for
Children which could further undermine the rights of parents. And as we know,
what happens in our costal states have a tendency to move across the nation.
Brad Dacus, PJI President |
Joining
us Tuesday to discuss these matters will be an old friend of the program, Brad
Dacus, president of the Pacific Justice Institute. Long-time listeners will
remember that Brad was one of our first guests when the fledgling FOT began as
a 5-minute segment during the morning drive-time program.
Brad served
as legislative assistant to U.S. Senator Phil Gramm, and went on to receive his
law degree from the University of Texas, School of Law. For the next five
years, he coordinated religious freedom and parental rights cases throughout
the Western states. In 1997, he founded Pacific Justice Institute, where he
serves as president and continues to defend religious liberties and parental
rights. The Pacific Justice Institute has a network with hundreds of volunteer
affiliate attorneys and handles more cases on the West Coast than any other
organization of its kind.
In
addition, Gina Noll – just back from the March for Life, will give us a report
on the doings in Washington during the past week. So join Gina and Deacon Mike
Manno for an interesting discussion on those things that affect people of faith.
FOT is
