1.5 to 2.7 Million Illegals Likely to Vote in 2024: Experts

By Ben Johnson, The Washington Stand

Do you plan to vote this November? You’re not alone. Experts say somewhere between 1.5 million and 2.7 million illegal immigrants are likely to cast a ballot in the 2024 elections, impacting races from dog catcher to president of the United States.

The historic flood of illegal immigrants during the Biden-Harris administration has also padded voter rolls, thanks to controversial federal legislation from the Clinton administration. If illegal immigrants and other noncitizens vote in the same proportion as in previous U.S. elections, the number will range anywhere from one-and-a-half to nearly three million votes.

“A 2014 academic journal found that 6.4% of noncitizens voted in 2008,” Kerri Toloczko, executive director of Election Integrity Network and senior advisor to the Only Citizens Vote Coalition, told The Washington Stand. “There are about 24 million noncitizens in the U.S. right now. If they voted only at the same rate of 6.4% this year as they did in 2008, they would account for 1.5 million votes.”

That ponderous number of unlawful votes may just be the tip of the iceberg. “Based on the increased noncitizen activity at state DMVs, and the work of left-wing voter registration activists, this 6.4% could be much higher than it was in 2008. We could be looking at over two million unlawful noncitizen votes,” she told TWS.

Her estimate largely dovetails with a previous study showing 2.7 million noncitizens are likely to vote in the 2024 election.

The author of that study — James D. Agresti, the president and cofounder of the think tank and fact-check website Just Facts — confirmed to TWS that “the most comprehensive, transparent, and rigorous study on this matter found that about two to five million noncitizens are illegally registered to vote, and aggressive attempts to debunk the study have completely failed.”

Opponents of election integrity laws minimize the problem by claiming it is already illegal for foreigners to vote in U.S. elections. But, unlike other purported threats, the problem truly holds the power to undermine our democracy, election experts say. “The Left likes to use phrases like, ‘It’s not that widespread,’” Toloczko observed. “But how many does a moral relativist uninterested in upholding the law think is too many?” And “if every unlawful vote cancels out the vote of a lawful citizen voter, how many of those are acceptable?”

Would two million unlawful votes be “enough to possibly make a difference in House and Senate races, and even the presidency?” she asked. “You bet.”

Agresti noted that “the claim that noncitizens rarely vote is based on studies with absurd methodologies. For example, they measure the prevalence of this crime by merely counting convictions for it.”

This is “ridiculous,” Agresti told TWS. He compared the statistic to measuring the number of Americans who illegally use narcotics “based on guilty pleas and verdicts. The same applies to any other law that isn’t strictly enforced, like driving above the speed limit.”

The House of Representatives released a 22-page report in June documenting illegal immigrants voting in the United States. Under current law, 17 cities in California, Maryland, and Vermont as well as the District of Columbia allow noncitizens to vote. While the noncitizens are supposed to vote only in local elections, “mistakes” have been reported.

Toloczko highlighted documented cases of foreigners illegally voting in U.S. elections. “The federal government recently indicted a group of noncitizens from 15 different countries on federal voting charges. Texas recently purged 6,500 noncitizens from its voter rolls — 30% of whom had voting records,” Toloczko told TWS, expressing similar thoughts in The Stream.

Illegal immigration impacts U.S. elections in a second way: Counting noncitizens in the U.S. Census redistributes eight congressional seats and, with them, their Electoral College votes which elect the president, a team of immigration scholars found. America’s teeming illegal immigrant population gives additional congressional seats to California (3), Texas (2), New York, New Jersey, and Florida (one each); and it takes seats away from Alabama, Idaho, Michigan, Missouri, Minnesota, Ohio, Rhode Island, and West Virginia (one seat each). Illegal immigrants alone transfer one seat each from Ohio, Alabama, and Minnesota to California, Texas, and New York, the study from the Center for Immigration Studies found.

House Republicans have sought to address the problem by passing a number of border security and election integrity measures, including the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act (H.R. 8281), which would require local election officials to verify someone’s U.S. citizenship status before registering that person to vote. It passed the House of Representatives in July.

“States are prohibited from requiring documentary proof of U.S. citizenship” thanks to court interpretations of the 1993 National Voter Registration Act (NVRA), Rep. Andy Barr (R-Ky.) told Fox Business show “Mornings with Maria” on Tuesday. “Democrats who vote against that show what they are really up to: that they want noncitizens to vote and rig our elections.”

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-La.) has called the bill’s passage “a generation-defining moment.” Johnson favors attaching the election integrity bill to a must-pass continuing resolution to keep the government funded past the end of the fiscal year on September 30 and avert a government shutdown. Yet Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) has declared the bill dead on arrival in the Senate. “What is he afraid of?” asked Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) on Tuesday morning on Fox Business.

The underlying numbers behind the 1.5 to 2.7 million noncitizen vote count may undercount the extent of the problem. Yale University researchers estimated the size of the U.S. illegal immigrant population at 16 to 29 million in 2016, before the Biden-Harris administration enacted border policies that saw record-breaking levels of illegal immigration every year to date. While administration officials channeled illegal immigration into ports of entry and other means such as the CBP One app which reduce the number of entries on paper during this presidential election year, experts say the number of overall immigrants entering the U.S. has remained the same or increased.

Americans have increasingly groaned under the strain of illegal immigration. Video footage has shown members of the Venezuelan transnational criminal organization Tren de Aragua (TdA) rampaging through the Denver suburb of Aurora, Colorado, where they reportedly terrorize and extort residents of multiple apartment buildings.

The Biden-Harris administration has placed roughly 20,000 Haitians in the town of Springfield, Ohio — a town of 58,000 Americans — where they have proceeded to drive up housing costs, underbid American workers for jobs, and engage in a spree of car crashes. The problem has reportedly spread to the nearby town of Tremont. Ohio Governor Mike DeWine (R) recently sent the city millions of dollars and deployed a team of Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers to get the deadly traffic problem under control. Although the legacy media attempted to pin a large reported number of bomb threats against Springfield schools and other institutions on J.D. Vance and other politicians who have highlighted the city’s plight, DeWine verified that officials determined that all 33 threats were “hoaxes” that originated overseas.

Mayors of Aurora and Tremont say they were not consulted about the resettling of these foreigners in their cities.

Axios/Harris poll released in April showed a majority of Americans support the mass deportation of illegal immigrants back to their countries of origin. Overall, 51% of U.S. citizens back the Trump-endorsed policy of deportations, including about half (46%) of all registered Independents. A surprisingly high 42% of Democrats support mass deportations, likely fueled by the increasing number of African Americans — who have voted as high as nine out of 10 for the Democratic presidential candidate — who see their neighborhoods impacted by a surging illegal immigrant population, especially in sanctuary cities. Their cities’ Democratic leaders often divert taxpayer funds, and deny taxpayer-funded services to U.S. citizens, in favor of illegal immigrants.

As the government funding drama plays out in the U.S. Capitol, America First Legal has filed numerous lawsuits contending that two provisions of federal law — 8 U.S.C. § 1373(c) and 8 U.S.C. § 1644 — already allow state and local officials to obtain information about applicants’ citizenship status before registration.

“The reason why [Democrats have] got that wide-open border is so they can get as many illegals in here and get them to vote, so they can dominate the American vote,” Rep. Mike Ezell (R-Miss.) told “Washington Watch” in July. “They want to dominate the House, the Senate, and the White House.”

“They want to get elected by any means necessary,” Ezell said.

The Reality of Abortion Up To and During Birth

ORLANDO, FL – Despite what pro-abortionists want people to believe, the truth is children are being murdered before and after their birth in America. Data from just nine states alone shows that 277 babies were born alive after a failed abortion since 2006, and in some cases were left to die.

Especially after the recent presidential debate between Republican nominee Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris, mainstream media outlets have been quick to deny abortion is happening in the ninth month and propagate the claim that infanticide is illegal in every state. Unfortunately, these statements are demonstrably false. Abortion in the ninth month is legal in 21 states and 15 states do not actively prevent infanticide.

During the debate, President Trump stated that support for “abortion in the ninth month” is a “radical” position and that Democratic Vice-Presidential Nominee Tim Walz supported what Trump called “execution after birth.” ABC News moderator Linsey Davis then seemed to want to enter the debate herself by inserting her own statement directed to President Trump.

She said, “There is no state in this country where it is legal to kill a baby after it’s born.” Then Davis immediately invited Harris to respond.

Harris added, “Nowhere in America is a woman carrying a pregnancy to term and asking for an abortion. That is not happening. It’s insulting to the women of America.”

While federal law states infants who are born alive after a failed abortion are “full persons” under the law, it does not require health care practitioners to give those babies medical care. Currently, it is up to the states to regulate late-term abortions as well as the legal protections for born-alive infants. In some states, the law allows unregulated abortion throughout pregnancy, and in others the law either indirectly permits abortions after birth or the authorities just passively allow it.

In Minnesota alone, Governor Tim Walz’s Department of Health reports that there were at least six abortions in the ninth month and that 19 babies were born alive and left to die between 2015 and 2021. According to data from the state’s 2021 report, five babies were born alive where in all five instances no life-preserving measures were taken and in only two instances were “comfort care measures” taken. However, these are just the reported cases. In the future, there may not be any further statistics from Minnesota, for in 2023, Governor Walz repealed Minnesota’s “Born Alive Infant’s Protection Act” where health care practitioners are no longer required to report about infants born alive and are certainly not required to provide life-saving efforts for them. He then signed the “Protect Reproductive Options (PRO) Act” that sets no limits on abortion. Currently, the state has no provision requiring medical professionals to hospitalize or render the same care to infants surviving abortions as any other child born alive. Instead, Governor Walz has helped create a legal landscape in Minnesota that permits abortion in the ninth month while setting conditions in the state that do not prevent infanticide.

The available data further contradicts Harris and the ABC moderator showing at least nine other states have recorded failed abortions where infants were born alive with no indications that life-saving measures were performed. According to a September 2024 report from the Family Research Council’s Center for Human Dignity, the 277 known cases of babies being born alive during an abortion since 2006 involved states which are required by law to report such cases, such as Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, and Texas. Currently, Michigan no longer has these reporting requirements. The report titled, “Born-Alive Abortion Survivors: Just the Facts,” indicates the data from just these nine states suggests the actual number of infants born alive during an abortion is much higher.

Abortion in the Ninth Month

A diligent “fact check” will reveal that 21 states allow abortion in the ninth month of pregnancy and up to the moment of birth. According to data compiled by the Family Research Council and the World Population Review, these 21 states either allow unrestricted abortion throughout pregnancy or allow late-term abortions through a “health” exception. The states are Alaska, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Nevada, Oregon, Rhode Island, Washington, Vermont, and Virginia.

Specifically, the states that allow unrestricted abortion in the ninth month are Alaska, Colorado, California, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, and Vermont. Notably, of all these states, California, Michigan, and Vermont have state constitutional amendments protecting a “right” to an abortion at any point in pregnancy. In addition, Colorado, Maryland, New York, and Nevada all have ballot measures in 2024 attempting to amend each state constitution to enshrine abortion protections at any stage of pregnancy.

Abortion After Birth (Infanticide)

Despite claims infanticide is illegal in every state, there are 15 states that either offer no protections for infants born alive during an abortion or have recently removed such protections. The born-alive protection map from the Family Research Council shows that Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Utah, and Vermont all have conditions where infanticide could be passively permitted. Each of these 15 states:

  • lack any requirement that health care practitioners must exercise the same skill, care, and diligence for infants who survive abortion that would be rendered to any child born at the same gestational age.
  • have no hospitalization requirement to transport the surviving infant to a hospital.
  • do not have any legal penalties for letting an infant die after a failed abortion.
  • lack any reporting requirements.

Under these conditions, there is nothing to stop an abortion after birth if the mother and physician want it to happen.

However, many people would rather deny and dismiss these facts out of hand than acknowledge the dark reality of abortion. Many people even have no idea about the abortion procedure in general – how babies are torn apart in the womb by forceps or starved to death by a pill. It is understandable that many people do not want to closely examine such violence. So it follows that the thought of living, breathing, and born human babies being dispassionately left to expire, as if he or she had no intrinsic worth, becomes an unbelievable notion. This reality, which is all too easy to dismiss and ignore as fiction, must not be denied or obfuscated any longer.

Liberty Counsel Founder and Chairman Mat Staver said, “Sadly, children are being aborted long after they feel pain, even up to and during birth. The deliberate strategy to cover up this horrible fact is shameful. Late term abortion up to birth and infanticide cannot be ignored and must be stopped.”

New Analysis - Planned Parenthood’s Core Curriculum in Your Child’s Classroom

American Life League Calls Out Schools for Allowing Abortion Vendor       Access to Minors

Fredericksburg, Va. America’s largest abortion provider is present in schools across America, and American Life League is calling out education administrators for granting Planned Parenthood access to students. The pro-life education organization points to one example, in which International Planned Parenthood Federation’s Deliver Enable Toolkit shows teachers how to scale “comprehensive sexuality education” for children under age 10—presenting the exploitation of women through prostitution as a normal “interpersonal relationship.”

“Public schools are allowing the organization that killed almost 393,000 preborn children by abortion in 2023 unfettered access to thousands of elementary, middle, and high school students in their classrooms,” stated Katie Brown, American Life League’s national director, “and it is spending taxpayer dollars to do so.”

Planned Parenthood boasts on its website that it is the “nation's largest provider of sex education.” Its 2023 annual report claims that it has reached “1.2 million people . . . through education programming, outreach, and training,” garnered three million views of its educational videos, and spent $53.9 million on sex education expenses.

The abortion vendor touts operation of more than 350 campus groups across the country, with a 2023 study reporting Planned Parenthood involvement at 76 Christian colleges.

At all ages, the curriculum includes information about sexual health and behavior, relationships and decision-making, and human development, which Planned Parenthood lists as “reproduction, puberty, sexual orientation, and gender identity.”

“Notably absent,” said Brown, “is any mention of chastity, expectant motherhood, fetal development, or parenting. Planned Parenthood teaches children to be sexually promiscuous so they will then need its abortion and birth control services later on.”

The taxpayer-funded abortion giant’s offerings for students vary from state to state:

·         Sex Ed To-Go: Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest offer teachers free downloadable “Sex Ed To-Go” abortion curriculum for children as young as nine years old with 25- to 40-minute video sessions, including: How Abortion Works, a 40-minute course about “a common medical procedure”; Barriers to Abortion Care, a 30-minute course about how barriers to accessing abortion care can be “navigated”; and Supporting Abortion Access, a 25-minute course about how to be a “strong advocate for abortion access in your community.”

·         Back to School with Planned Parenthood: Planned Parenthood of Northern, Central and Southern New Jersey’s feature entitled “Back to School with Planned Parenthood!” informs youth that “we’re always here for all your sexual and reproductive health needs.” It goes on to say, “Whether you need a wellness exam, are interested in birth control, want some free condoms (seriously – NSA), or just have questions, we have locations all across New Jersey.”

·         Planned Parenthood Teachers in Public Schools: Planned Parenthood Los Angeles promotes its school presentations as facilitated by Planned Parenthood “educators” who have “extensive training and expertise in teaching sex education classes,” noting that they “work with several key schools across Los Angeles.”

·         Helping Children Hide Abortions from Their Parents: Planned Parenthood of South, East and North Florida is one of multiple regional Planned Parenthood branches that direct minor girls to a detailed “Abortion Care for People Under 18 tutorial, providing step-by-step instructions for obtaining an abortion without parental knowledge or consent.

“What does it look like when Planned Parenthood presents sexual education?” asks Brown. “Unfortunately, it’s not about how God created our bodies uniquely male and female to bring children into the world. No, Planned Parenthood’s top services are abortion and birth control, clearly illustrating this organization’s complete lack of respect for the life that God created and total disregard for His plan for procreation and families. This is not an entity that anyone should ever trust to care for and instruct our precious children.”

American Life League has documented examples of the abortion vendor’s recent youth-focused programming.

“Our children are America’s most precious commodity,” shared Brown, “and we can’t let them be abused by an entity that views them as disposable fodder for an ideology that devalues them and their very existence by insisting that they are expendable before and up to the moment, even after, they are born. Allowing Planned Parenthood to teach our children about anything does these young ones a horrible—and deadly—disservice.”

Stop Planned Parenthood International (STOPP), American Life League’s Planned Parenthood watchdog group, regularly reports on the salariesfacilities, and programming of the abortion giant. STOPP urges concerned parents and community members to educate school officials about the unhealthy agenda and utter failure of PP sex education programs.

Kamala Harris: ‘My Values’ Say Pro-Life Laws Are ‘Immoral’

By Ben Johnson, The Washington Times

Vice President Kamala Harris promised a presidency that “brings values” that demean pro-life laws protecting unborn children as “immoral,” while endorsing a national abortion expansion during a poorly moderated debate with former President Donald Trump. Trump, meanwhile, seemed to scuttle reports that he would veto any and all national pro-life laws that reach his desk as president.

The two presidential hopefuls faced off at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia on Tuesday night in a 90-minute debate remembered more for the words of its moderators than its participants. David Muir and Linsey Davis of ABC News repeatedly contradicted Trump while allowing Harris to get by with numerous lies and falsehoods uncorrected. Although the rules called for the candidates’ microphones to be muted between questions, both candidates repeatedly spoke out of turn. In all, Trump spoke for 42 minutes, while Harris talked for 37 minutes.

Although Trump debated President Joe Biden on June 27 — a performance so discrediting that Biden bowed out of the presidential race on July 21 and coronated Harris as his hand-picked successor — he and Harris never debated before. Harris awkwardly introduced herself by name at the beginning of the debate.

Abortion came up early in the debate, as Harris defended the death-inflicting procedure as compatible with her morals and insisted the death of innocents does not violate any religion. Harris claimed, after the 2022 Dobbs decision, “now in over 20 states there are Trump abortion bans which make it criminal for a doctor or nurse to provide health care” — by which she meant bans on taking the life of an innocent person through abortion. She blasted those which do not allow abortionists to kill an innocent child conceived in rape, who did nothing to deserve the death penalty.

“That is immoral,” Harris pontificated.

Harris, who boasted she “brings values” to the White House, then repeated one of the many shopworn phrases she said during the debate: “One does not have to abandon their faith or deeply held beliefs to agree the government, and Donald Trump certainly, should not be telling a woman what to do with her body.” Christians have held that abortion violates their faith, and should be illegal, for 2,000 years. Orthodox Jews also say they hold a pro-life faith.

The Satanic Temple regards abortion as a sacrament.

As she has throughout the campaign, Harris promised to impose abortion on all 50 states by force. “I pledge to you when Congress passes a bill to put back in place the protections of Roe v. Wade as president of the United States, I will proudly sign it into law,” she said. “But, understand, if Donald Trump were to be re-elected, he will sign a national abortion ban. Understand, in his Project 2025, there would be a national abortion ban.”

The Biden-Harris administration has endorsed a bill that goes beyond Roe, allowing abortion until birth nationwide. The Democratic Party platform also supports taxpayer-funded abortions in the United States and around the world.

President Trump countered that her party’s view lies far outside the American mainstream. “The Democrats are radical” on abortion, replied Trump. Harris’s running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, “says abortion in the ninth month is absolutely fine.” Last January, Walz signed the Protection of Reproductive Options (PRO) Act, which allows unlimited abortion-on-demand until birth. The Minnesota governor also removed a requirement that babies born alive during botched abortions receive potentially life-saving care. He also increased government payments to abortionists, curtailed funding for pro-life pregnancy resource centers, and rescinded a requirement that abortionists adequately inform mothers about the possibly life-threatening procedure they’re about to undergo.

Trump cited comments from Democrats that abortionists could allow an infant born alive during a botched abortion to die without medical treatment. Liberals support “execution after birth,” added Trump. “That’s not okay with me.”

ABC’s Linsey Davis promptly inserted a comment that such procedures are already illegal, and Harris erroneously stated that late-term abortions do not take place. However, the Biden-Harris administration’s CDC reports tens of thousands of abortions after 21 weeks, and an unknown number of children are born alive during botched abortions. “State-level abortion reporting statistics from nine states show that at least 277 infants have survived abortion since 2006,” according to a new report from Mary Szoch, director of the Center for Human Dignity at Family Research Council — and that only accounts for eight states’ fatalities.

Trump attempted to thread the needle, boasting of his role in overturning Roe v. Wade while seemingly foreclosing any future federal pro-life protections. “I did a great service” in appointing three of the six justices who overturned Roe v. Wade in the June 2022 Dobbs decision, because now the issue of abortion is “not tied up in the federal government,” he said.

Trump made news when asked if he would veto any national pro-life legislation that reached his desk, as his running mate, Ohio Senator J.D. Vance (R), had said. “I didn’t discuss it with J.D.,” Trump replied. “I think he was speaking for me, but I really didn’t.” He said there is no need to discuss a veto, because national abortion legislation would “never get the vote” necessary to pass Congress.

Polls show a vast majority of Americans oppose overseas funding of abortion and late-term abortion, which remains legal — and practiced — across the United States. Congressional majorities may emerge on both issues after the November election. Trump reiterated his support for abortion in cases of rape and incest, and seemed content to leave the issue up to the states.

“This is an issue that’s torn our country apart for 52 years,” said Trump of abortion. “It’s the vote of the people now.”

Harris successfully ducked the question. “Would you support any restrictions on a woman’s right to an abortion?” asked Davis.

“I absolutely support reinstating the protections of Roe v. Wade,” she replied, which would allow abortions through all nine months of pregnancy. She then facetiously denied late-term abortions took place. “Nowhere in America is a woman carrying a pregnancy to term and asking for an abortion. That is not happening,” Harris falsely stated.

The debate featured Harris in prosecutorial mode, focused on her attack lines and frequently baiting the 45th president into discussing niche issues that turned off swing voters in the suburbs, such as Harris’s biracial identity, the 2020 election outcome, the January 6 riot, and the size of his crowds. Harris largely managed to wiggle out of uncomfortable questions without any scrutiny from the moderators.

Trump did score points on numerous issues and clearly shellshocked Harris when she accused him of being a threat to the American form of government.

“It’s up to the American people to stop him,” Harris said.

“I probably took a bullet to the head because of the things that they say about me,” replied Trump, referring to a near-fatal assassination attempt on the other side of Pennsylvania on July 13.

Moderator David Muir promptly cut Trump off. “We have a lot to get to,” Muir interrupted.

At times, the debate seemed more between Trump and the moderators than Harris. Numerous commentators referred to the spectacle as a “three-on-one” debate. “I am absolutely disgusted by what we just witnessed,” said Greg Kelly of Newsmax immediately after the debate. CNN contributor David Urban noted that the “moderators have their thumb on the scale.”

The Harris campaign was so satisfied with the outcome that it has reportedly floated the possibility of holding a second debate with Trump. The president told Sean Hannity that the Harris team is asking for a rematch “because she lost.” Republican presidential candidates have typically not fared well during the first debate: Ronald Reagan did poorly in 1984. Michael Dukakis was believed to defeat George H.W. Bush in 1988. George W. Bush stammered his way to a tie with John Kerry in 2004. And Donald Trump did not score a knockout punch in his first 2016 debate against Hillary Clinton.

All rebounded in the second debate en route to winning the presidential election in November.

GOP lawmaker warns of Harris’ ties to ‘woke’ curricula

In an op-ed titled “Hey, Kamala: Leave Them Kids Alone” this week, Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-AL, warned against Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris’ ties to “left-wing indoctrination” in the public school system. “Kamala has said she’s ‘a proud product of public education,’” Tuberville wrote. “And it shows today, as both Harris and Walz are vocal proponents of left-wing ideology in our schools.”  READ

ADF sues Colorado school district for undermining parental rights

CV NEWS FEED // Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) attorneys have filed a federal lawsuit against Jefferson County Public Schools (JeffCo) on behalf of three Colorado families, accusing the district of undermining parental rights.

According to a September 5 press release from ADF, JeffCo told parents that girls and boys will be roomed separately on school trips, but it failed to inform parents of their policy of assigning students to their accommodations based on “gender identity” rather than biological sex.

“JeffCo refuses to give parents truthful, pertinent information about their children’s overnight accommodations, thus hampering parents’ ability to make informed decisions about their children’s education and privacy,” the press release states.

The ADF reported that one of the families, the Wailes, involved discovered the issue when their 11-year-old daughter was assigned to share a bed with a boy “identifying” as a girl during a school trip to Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., despite being told initially that their daughter would be rooming with girls only.

Another family, the Rollers, sent their 11-year-old son on a sixth-grade camping trip, believing he would be supervised by a male counselor. Instead, the boy discovered that his 18-year-old counselor identified as “non-binary” and was actually female. The counselor was responsible for supervising the boys’ showers.

The ADF report shared that despite these concerns, JeffCo has stated that it will continue to base room assignments on “gender identity.” Additionally, JeffCo will not provide separate accommodations for students who are made uncomfortable by these rules, even if it violates their religious beliefs against staying in close quarters with members of the opposite sex.

ADF Senior Counsel Kate Anderson, director of the ADF Center for Parental Rights explained in the news release that if Jefferson County Public Schools plans to keep assigning students of different sexes to share rooms on overnight trips, then the district needs to clearly inform parents about this policy, enabling them to make well-informed decisions for their children.

“Parents, not the government, have the right and duty to direct the upbringing and education of their children, and that includes making informed decisions to protect their child’s privacy,” said Anderson, adding, “The district must grant our clients’ reasonable request for accommodations that can be accomplished in a number of confidential ways that protect the privacy of all students.”

Study: How to keep your kids Catholic for life

A Catholic counselor surveyed Catholic families whose adult children still practice the faith in order to identify practices common to these families.
