Nico Perrino FIRE director of communications |
You’d
have to be living in a cave not to know that there are numerous problems on
college – and high school – campuses today. “Free speech zones,” “save places,”
speakers vetted for political beliefs, and the list goes on.
Joining
us Tuesday to uncover the problem will be Nico Perrino, communications director
for FIRE, Foundation for Individual Rights in Education. FIRE’s mission is to
defend and sustain individual rights in America’s colleges and universities
such as freedom of speech, legal equality, due process, religious liberty, and
sanctity of conscience. Nico, originally from the Chicago area is a graduate of
Indiana University-Bloomington with a B.A. in journalism and history.
In
addition to Nico, Deacon Mike Manno and Gina Noll will have the usual array of
news items of interest to people of faith.
Join
Deacon Mike and Gina at 9 a.m. on Iowa Catholic Radio 1150 AM; 88.5 & 94.5
FM and streaming on IowaCatholicRadio.com. The program is rebroadcast at 9 p.m.
unless preempted by Dowling Catholic basketball. The program is also webcast on
the Iowa Catholic Radio Channel on YouTube and podcasts of older programs can
be found on the FOT page on the station’s website here. Don’t for get to “like”
us on Facebook to get our news feed.
